Here is your daily project update:

Must-Read of the Day: How We Can All Get Rid of Politics for Good
"Politics distills everything to the knucklehead Ford-or-Chevrolet conundrum. Is it any wonder politics infuriates and inflames? The media apotheoses of political conflict — the repugnant Keith Olbermann and the shrewish Ann Coulter — are two sides of the same coin. Their stock in trade is forcing people to consider the lesser of two evils, when no evil need prevail. Do most of us give a thought, much less a damn, about gay marriage? Does anyone think politics will settle the abortion debate?…"

Yet Another Reason the Fed Should Be Abolished
"… The Fed and other major central banks are making those least able to protect themselves from inflation and job loss poorer, and sending all the wrong price signals to business…"

John Stossel: Government Monopoly Over U.S. Education Has Failed
"Conventional wisdom is that government must run the schools. But government monopolies don't do anything well. They fail because they have no real competition. Yet competition is what gives us better phones, movies, cars - everything that's good…"

Once again, thank you for sending us your e-mails. We can't respond individually, but we read and consider all of them. Send your question, comment, or complaint to wendy@theprojecttorestoreamerica.com.

A town in Georgia called Sandy Springs has done something revolutionary. Every government job that isn't law enforcement, fire fighters, or education has been outsourced to private companies. They've found out that by auctioning the jobs to the lowest bidder, they saved the tax payers about 36%.

My idea, which I call the Sandy Springs Initiative, is to gather support for as many local governments as possible to do the same. It is just an idea that probably needs modified before it becomes a plan. There are over 30,000 local governments in the U.S. How many billions in tax money could be saved if every local, and possibly state, government took on this efficient form of government? –Anonymous

Bidwell comment: I like where you are going with this… Of course, in all things the private sector is more efficient than the government. But another key point is this… the Project will have more influence over your locally elected officials.

You see them more often, you know them and work with them regularly… Thus, your voice will be louder and will be able to drown out the other half voting themselves benefits.

The Project volunteers will be the ones asking candidates running for local office to sign the pledge and support passing the three amendments listed below. If the candidate is elected and rises through the ranks to become a part of the federal government, the pledge will still apply.

We must pass our three amendments, and we must move quickly.

Regards,

Wendy Bidwell
Director, The Project to Restore America

The Project to Restore America is a non-partisan call for a fiscally-responsible government, to bring true freedom to Americans as outlined in the Constitution.

Each day, we will be sending you the most timely and important news and information on the three "pillars" of The Project:

Balanced budgets for every level of government
Sound money backed by gold
The right for all Americans to keep 80% of his/her income

This has nothing to do with Republicans, Democrats, or whatever political party you belong to. The system we have today has delivered ALL of us to the doorstep of national bankruptcy. Unless we reform the way we govern our country, by adopting the three Project "pillars" as amendments to the Constitution, we will lose the liberty that is our birthright as Americans.

That is the goal for The Project to Restore America. Ultimately, our community will be a powerful vehicle for change.

Let's move quickly!
