Dear Project To Restore America reader,

Here is your daily project update:

Witness in Currie Trial: No One Would Call Him Smart
Federal prosecutors allege Maryland Senator Ulysses Currie received $245,000 from Shoppers Food Warehouse for government favors. In a testimony by one of the senator's witnesses, lawyer and former Maryland delegate Timothy Maloney said nobody would call him smart…

The critical point here is Maloney, a former state legislator himself, is a character witness for the defense. Also, note Currie is not some backbencher… he's been in the State House for 24 years, including a stint as chairman of the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee.

How We Know Roger Ailes Is the Most Powerful Man in News
A recent Pew Research Center survey verifies Fox News is most often cited as the public's No. 1 news source…

"When you give an Austrian/libertarian the chance to explain his case, it's a beautiful thing…"

Once again, thank you for sending us your e-mails. We can't respond individually, but we read and consider all of them. Send your question, comment, or complaint to wendy@theprojecttorestoreamerica.com.

Here is a quote that I'd like to pass along. It does a good job of explaining our current state of affairs. I hope you find it useful…

Alexander Fraser Tytler (1747-1813), a Scottish-born British lawyer once wrote:

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world’s great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage." - Anonymous

Bidwell comment: Thank you for sharing this. This British lawyer from the mid-1700s and early 1800s describes precisely what we are currently experiencing in the U.S…

As to how our adventure in California is going, we had meetings with business leaders in Los Angeles yesterday, we're at the S&A Alliance conference today in Santa Barbara, and tomorrow we go to Fresno, California to host a roundtable dinner for leaders in the agriculture industry.

As you may know, even with the recent move towards sustainable farming and developing local farms, Fresno is where the majority of our produce comes from… I'll let you know what we learn.

Regards,

Wendy Bidwell
Director, The Project to Restore America

The Project to Restore America is a non-partisan call for a fiscally-responsible government, to bring true freedom to Americans as outlined in the Constitution.

Each day, we will be sending you the most timely and important news and information on the three "pillars" of The Project:

Balanced budgets for every level of government
Sound money backed by gold
The right for all Americans to keep 80% of his/her income

This has nothing to do with Republicans, Democrats, or whatever political party you belong to. The system we have today has delivered ALL of us to the doorstep of national bankruptcy. Unless we reform the way we govern our country, by adopting the three Project "pillars" as amendments to the Constitution, we will lose the liberty that is our birthright as Americans.

That is the goal for The Project to Restore America. Ultimately, our community will be a powerful vehicle for change.

Let's move quickly!
