Dear Project To Restore America reader,

Here is your daily project update:

The Man Who Brought Down Madoff Has Identified Another Huge Fraud
According to Harry Markopolis, the man who brought down Madoff's $65 billion Ponzi scheme, the Bank of New York Mellon and State Street has stolen up to $10 billion from retirement savings accounts…

How We Know the Economy Is "That Bad"
These three graphs demonstrate how bad the U.S. economy is by depicting some very different aspects… doctor visits are down, the gap between the rich and poor is widening, and businesses don't feel confident the economy is improving…

A Bit of Humor, Frustration, Anger, and Some Solutions
You might want to turn your speakers down before listening to Bob of Drinking with Bob talk about investments in solar energy company Solyndra and Tenapa…

Americans Military Spending is Foreign Aid – Cut It
We might be broke, but our taxpayer dollars go to defending Europe, Japan, South Korea, and many other countries…

Once again, thank you for sending us your e-mails. We can't respond individually, but we read and consider all of them. Send your question, comment, or complaint to wendy@theprojecttorestoreamerica.com.

Here is a comment on Herman Cain and his tax code of 9-9-9… What would happen if this became a reality? Thanks, JD

Bidwell comment: We don't know how a tax code like the 9-9-9 plan would play out, but it would provide more voter equity than the existing structure. It is an interesting mix of the fair tax and flat tax. A 9% tax on consumer goods seems like the fair tax… and 9% for corporations and 9% for personal income taxes, the same rate for everybody, seems like a flat tax.

If the media gives much more attention to Herman Cain and he stays on track, I'm voting for him. I think he can 'sell' himself to the '535 wanna-be-presidents' aka Congress. He's the opposite of Romney, (who I like only because of his business start-up) in that Mr. Cain gives me more of the 'Reagan' can do approach to everything while my impression of Romney is the opposite. I'll vote for him only if he's the last one standing.

I'd LOVE to see Cain president and vice-president… … ..Newt Gingrich. As to what Cain does not know about D.C. politics… … he couldn't get a better intelligent 'instructor' for all the ins and outs! Then we've got a younger man as president who could go forward with a real presence and, who, if he ran into a problem would, I think, pull the 'ole Reagan' and sell/advise the public on TV. – Anonymous

Bidwell comment: Thank you for sharing these ideas with us. I hope to speak with a few of the potential candidates and their teams at the upcoming Western Republican Leadership Conference… I will keep you abreast with what I learn…

Regards,

Wendy Bidwell
Director, The Project to Restore America

The Project to Restore America is a non-partisan call for a fiscally-responsible government, to bring true freedom to Americans as outlined in the Constitution.

Each day, we will be sending you the most timely and important news and information on the three "pillars" of The Project:

Balanced budgets for every level of government
Sound money backed by gold
The right for all Americans to keep 80% of his/her income

This has nothing to do with Republicans, Democrats, or whatever political party you belong to. The system we have today has delivered ALL of us to the doorstep of national bankruptcy. Unless we reform the way we govern our country, by adopting the three Project "pillars" as amendments to the Constitution, we will lose the liberty that is our birthright as Americans.

That is the goal for The Project to Restore America. Ultimately, our community will be a powerful vehicle for change.

Let's move quickly!
